Heidi Lemmon of Venice, California, is the founder of Skate Park Association International (SPAI). Less than three decades ago, there were three small public skate parks in the USA. Today, thanks in part to the efforts of SPAI, there are more than 10,000. Lemmon is a writer and photographer on skate parks, having contributed to numerous industry magazines. Additionally, she has founded a skateboard company, Salt Rags, and is a member of the F.08 committee for ASTM International, which sets construction standards for skateparks.
