John Martin

John Martin, marketing and communications manager for the East Coast Greenway Alliance,  joined the staff following extensive communications work in the Olympic Movement and collegiate athletics. Most recently, he was based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as the associate director, communications at USA Swimming and communications and media relations manager at USA Triathlon where he staffed two Olympic Games and multiple national and world championship events.

Previously, John worked in collegiate athletic communications at the University of North Carolina and Georgia Tech. He is a graduate of UNC with degrees in journalism and mass communication and history.

John is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and resides in Chapel Hill with his wife, Whitney, and two energetic sons. He enjoys running, travel, local restaurants and spending time in the outdoors.
